Contemporary Wrought Iron Rail Design

Contemporary rails serve as guard rails that provide safety and security for your property. They’re designed so that no one, particularly small children, can crawl underneath or slip through them. For this purpose, pickets on contemporary guard rails are spaced no wider than 4 inches apart. Contemporary guard rail requirements vary by city, but they are typically warranted wherever there is at least a 30 inch drop. So, if you’re doing new construction, remodeling or have an upcoming property inspection, you’ll likely be required to have these guard rails in the appropriate places! Not only are they functional, but they’re beautifully designed by our certified welders and are built to last. To learn more about contemporary wrought iron rail installation, contact us today.

Contemporary Rail Features

Contemporary wrought iron rails feature a molded cap rail and industrial enamel, finished in black semi-gloss. A square hole is punched into the rail channel, then the pickets are welded from the underside of the channel. Pickets are welded from under the cap rail.

Terrace Wrought Iron Rail Design

Terrace rails have the same height and construction process as contemporary rails, but they differ in that they don’t have the same safety and security requirements. Terrace rails are designed more like a hand rail that is used for stability or support while walking up or down terrain. All of our wrought iron railings are installed by certified welders across the Midwest, including Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minnesota, northern Wisconsin and north-central Illinois. The aluminum rails were designed to look like classic steel rails but will never rust. The rails were built in large sections and powder coated a custom green at Twin City Metal Seal.
